Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra Alumni Profile
Georgette Patricio, oboe
Class of 2016
MMYO Ensembles: Advanced Orchestra
Favorite MMYO memory:
Participating in the Spring 2016 Side-by-Side with the San Diego Symphony was my favorite memory of MMYO because it taught me some of the values of professional etiquette when being a part of a professional orchestra. Oh and because I got to perform Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet’s Overture-Fantasia on English Horn too!
What have you been up to since you graduated from MMYO?
Attending Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, studying Oboe Performance and Music History
Are you still involved with music?
Yes, by being a Music Major; I always take any opportunity given to me to perform with any ensemble at school and outside of school, as well as focus on my music studies that will assist in my playing
Advice for current MMYO students: Be friends with everyone! Get to know the person across the room or the person sitting behind you. Everyone is there to play music because it’s their passion, whether it becomes a career for them or not. I love seeing on social media what my fellow MMYO friends are up to with music; it’s what keeps us connected.
